In-State Schools Coming Hard

Deon Cain holds over 20 scholarship offers and he is being pursued by schools coast to coast, but none are after him harder than those closest to home...

Deon Cain recently visited Florida and Miami and both in-state programs showed him what it has to offer.

"Florida has been recruiting me very hard, so I got back over there to see the coaches," said Cain. "I like their offense and how hard they are recruiting me right now. I know they want me.

"Miami is recruiting me about the same. I like what I see there, the coaches treat me great, and it was a good visit.

"I had a great time at each school."

Both the Gators and the Hurricanes are in hot pursuit of the four-star athlete out of Tampa (Fla.) Tech, but so is another school in the Sunshine State.

"Florida State has been on me too," said Cain. "I have family up in Tallahassee, Fla. and I want to get back up there to visit soon. I like their coaches, their offense is good, and they are coming off a national championship."

Cain's next visit could go to Clemson. April 18 is a day he is targeting for that visit.

He also wants to visit Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee later this spring or over the summer.

A decision is likely to come late in 2014 or early in 2015.

"I do plan to take my official visits before I commit. I just need to get out and see everywhere and find the school that I really want to attend."
